..have had a vintage Horsebox converted to take our wood burning oven. This horsebox was on the scrapheap and would have ended up rotting away and causing more polution. Not only that but all the new materials that would have been required to construct a new trailer would have doubled the impact on the environment.
Wood from UK managed woodland
We burn only UK grown, sustainable hardwoods from managed woodlands. When burnt, wood is carbon neutral meaning it releases only as much Carbon Dioxide into the atmosphere as it absorbed from the atmosphere whilst growing. Not only that, but wood left to decompose on the forest floor gives off the same amount of Carbon Dioxide as burning it does. So burning wood from sustainable sources really is the best way for the environment.
Recycled, compostable plates and napkins
We serve our Pizzas on plates and in boxes made from recycled sugar cane waste, after the sugar cane has been processed for biofuel production. This gives a clean, strong, food safe product that is 100% compostable. we compost all of our waste meaning we are not adding to the problems of landfill.
Conserving Water
Despite our notorious British weather, it is easy to consume large amounts of water and we are trying to minimise our impact on one of our precious resources. We have developed a system to harvest rainwater when at events, this can then be safely used in the handwash facility. Just one little thing we can do to help conserve this much abused element.
